Es una satisfacción, presentar el segundo número de la Revista Gregoriana de Ciencias de
la Salud, un espacio dedicado a la difusión del conocimiento e investigación en Ciencias de la
Salud. Este número tiene un significado especial, pues coincide con la reciente celebración de la
III Conferencia Internacional de Ciencias de la Salud “Ciencia, educación médica y salud para
la transformación social y el desarrollo sostenible”, organizada por la carrera de Medicina de la
Universidad San Gregorio de Portoviejo, un evento que ha dejado una huella imborrable en nuestra
comunidad académica y profesional.
La III Conferencia Internacional de Ciencias de la Salud resaltó por su contribución a la
innovación científica y desarrollo académico en Ciencias Médicas, reuniendo a 365 expertos,
investigadores, académicos y estudiantes de Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, Estados Unidos de
América, Venezuela, Cuba, Chile, México, Italia, Japón, Argentina y República Dominicana, tanto
en modalidad presencial como virtual. Este evento, que se desarrolló en un ambiente de
colaboración y aprendizaje mutuo, ha consolidado nuestro compromiso con la formación
académica e investigativa en Ciencias de la Salud. Se realizaron 17 conferencias magistrales, 106
ponencias, 22 presentaciones en modalidad póster y una mesa redonda integrada por 4 ponencias,
para un total de 151 disertaciones en los cuatro eventos que sesionaron en paralelo en el marco de
esta conferencia internacional. Además, se realizaron 2 charlas con proveedores de equipos de
simulación médica, en las que se presentaron los simuladores de Gaumard y Laerdal Medical por
la Sociedad Radiotécnica Ecuatoriana y Promedent, respectivamente.
