Determinantes de salud de la desnutrición infantil en el Centro de Salud Miraflores

El estudio realizado en el Centro de Salud Miraflores, Manabí, Ecuador, analizó los determinantes de la desnutrición infantil con un enfoque exploratorio y descriptivo. La muestra incluyó a 26 niños menores de cinco años. A través de un diseño de investigación correlacional, se recolectaron datos mediante entrevistas estructuradas, cuestionarios y la revisión de historias clínicas, abarcando variables biológicas, sociodemográficas y ambientales. Los resultados revelaron que los niños de dos años fueron los más afectados, coincidiendo con el periodo de transición a alimentos sólidos. Esta situación se vio exacerbada por factores como el bajo nivel educativo de los padres, la escasez de recursos económicos y una dieta poco variada. Es decir, condiciones socioeconómicas desfavorables se asociaron directamente con una mayor prevalencia de desnutrición infantil. A pesar del acceso a servicios de salud, estos factores continúan afectando la nutrición infantil. Es necesario implementar intervenciones que mejoren la educación nutricional y los recursos disponibles para las familias.
